sometimes it's the small stuff...

Now in the front gallery at ART UP FRONT STREET.... art that fits in a stocking (or a small box :-). Sarah Koff wood cut prints, Gaby Grossman cards and prints, Dale Atkins pottery, Becky Barsi jewelry, cards and prints, Anne Kenny small paintings, Deb Wheeler-Bean assemblage and refound beauty, Rose Bryant tiny paintings, Ellie LaBranche paintings, Wo Schiffman encaustics.

It's almost too much to choose from for your art-lover's gift. Thank you for buying local and handmade...you keep the creative wheels turning. We have wrapping for delicate purchases plus we can package up a large original so you can sneak it back to your house without a worry.

Most often larger art is a very personal purchase. If you need advice on a larger original, but unsure if the giftee will feel the same as you, we can help. Rose Bryant offers a trade out for new art gift purchases to make sure your choice is well received and loved. Call us for details.

Art you probably missed at the show?

How could that be? Well maybe because of the swirling taking place last weekend. Now today, we walk around the gallery, having cleaned up from the fun. The setting sunlight changes the interior... and we SEE a few more things we really love... and didn't want you to miss them. Enjoy.
Deb Wheeler-Beans lines of poetry.... little wooden blocks with an endless abstract lure....we can't stop staring....
Scott Kuckler "Flesh and Bones"... we can't stop wondering...

Deb Wheeler-Bean's installation "Stoning  with Language".... we can't stop processing...

Anne Kenny "Industrial Quilts"... maybe you figured out what the elements are?... but we think you need a closer look

Jeff Whittum's metal... yes, the heron IS smelling these flowers.... we can't stop imagining this in our summer gardens

Gaby Grossman's brush.... so free... we want to touch these

Elly Labranche's insight.... what goes on beneath the soil?
All of these can be revisited with a cup of tea in your hands. Our holiday hours are listed to the left.... or you can call us. We welcome people seeking a calm moment.

Thank you for coming...

It was so great to see all of you at our fall OPEN STUDIOS. Thank you for coming and supporting local art and artists. We had so much positive feedback... and we are thrilled to be filling this space in our community.
Moving forward as we celebrate the completion of our first year, we will have special HOLIDAY hours now through December 22. Drop in.... low key, no hub bub. The tea is on, coffee is hot, the music is easy and there are a few treats.... breathe and take in some color. We want to be a place where friends can come and be inspired. You know where we are... and we would love for you to use us as a little break from "the busy" of your day.
There may be an artist or two here working. In addition to the resident artists, all of our guest artists from the OPEN STUDIOS will still have their work here.
Thank you again. Be sure and tell a friend who loves color about us. We love our community.

Art that comes in trucks is cool.... Jeff Whittum metal

Really no other way to say it. It's cool. Jeff Whittum, recycled metal, garden treasures, herons, pitchforks, at ART UP FRONT STREET OPEN STUDIOS need we say more? At the last show in May, Jeff sold a huge heron garden sculpture. Beautiful. This time he also brought something that makes an awesome sound... hmmmmm.... stop by Saturday and Sunday 10-4. Weekend event... with 13 other locations (for the FINE ART and SUGAR TOUR) in the Exeter area plus 3 neighbor towns. Pick up a map and go.

Sarah Koff gives back.... Special... Puerto Rico Lighthouse print. 100% of proceeds to benefit relief

Sarah Koff writes:

"Ever since the storms hit Puerto Rico, I've been struggling with not knowing how to help. Our family took a vacation there this March and fell in love with it. My daughter wants a map of Puerto Rico on her next birthday cake! So, I decided to make something. We loved El Faro lighthouse in Rincon. We have so many lighthouses at home in New England, but this one was just so gorgeously Puerto Rican. I made it into a print and will donate all proceeds to a fund to benefit Puerto Rico recovery. Come see it in person this weekend at Art up front street studios and gallery from 10-4! Print measures 8X10". #puertorico #rincon #theystillreallyneedourhelp #lighthouselove#linocut"
