Adrift the Surface... exhibit at Art Up Front Street, July 12-31

We are thrilled to announce our exhibit ... by Laura Harper Lake.
Laura will be wowing us with her mixture of dreamlike suggestions, human form, and alluring imagery.

Laura Harper Lake is an interdisciplinary artist, with a prime focus on painting, illustration, printmaking, and mixed media. She graduated with a degree in Studio Arts from Chester College of New England in 2007. Harper Lake has exhibited her work in various New Hampshire, Maine, and Boston, MA galleries, as well as had her work included in local and regional publications. Harper Lake is a permanent artist represented at the Art Up Front Street Studios and Gallery in Exeter, NH, and works under the name Artful Harper Studios. Harper Lake's feature exhibit on July 12, 2019 at Art Up Front Street Studios and Gallery is entitled "Adrift the Surface". Through small, delicate oil paintings, Harper Lake explores the physicality of the floating human form in a dream like state, delving to what is deeper within. The emotional release of weightless-ness and the submergence of stress and anxiety are concepts that are explored in Harper Lake's latest body of work.

Opening reception July 12, 4-8. Exhibit through July 31.
See facebook for more event info.

Meditation Conversation with Lenny Willis

Meditation Workshop in Exeter
STRESS and the Antidote... with Lenny Willis at Art Up Front Street.

Tuesday, June 11, 6 to 7:30 pm. Join us for an insightful discovery of self healing and meditation. Learn tips to manage stress, learn what it is, take home "tools" to help you balance your days and the moments that can seem to unravel your best intentions.

How do you take a step back? How do you know when you need a gentle calming? What are the signs? How do you discern what is urgent from what is important. How do you develop a practical and simple meditation style that fits your energy? This gentle meditation workshop is for anyone... not just creatives (who may seem to others to be calm in life's hectic pace).

Lenny Willis, yoga instructor and coach at Balance Life Coaching, will help educate us on the biology of meditation. He will lead short meditations for examples of steps we can each take to manage our days, and he also will answer any questions from the group.

SIGNUPS: are necessary in advance by email to artupfrontstreet@gmail.com
The cost of this one-time workshop is $15.
Wear comfortable clothes. We will be sitting in chairs (rather than on the floor).
Hot tea, lemon water and a few light snacks will be available.

TGIF, Friday kick back at the studio... we love a reason to just hang out

Fridays this summer. Mark your calendar! June 21, July 12, August 2. A bev, a bite to eat... on the coral benches out front at the studio. Talk about stuff. Creative schmoozing at its finest.
5 'til 7... give or take?
No RSVP needed.... just your wonderful self.

SOLD... Anne Kenny "Industrial Quilt" at Art Up Front Street

We always love a "sold" sign... but more than that we love it when art speaks to people. There is so much about Anne's work that sparks intrigue to others.... her past in textile design, her love of the early history of the mills in New England, her use of unlikely materials (ask her about her collections!) and her up-cycled sometimes vintage computer circuitry. Yesterday, this lovely piece went to a new home. Thank you, "R", for stopping in. To read more about Anne, check out her website http://www.industrialquilts.com/
