Paper Quilts: & other experiments by Ree Katrak, plus, Industrial Quilts: Industry & Nature by Anne Marie Kenny

Opening Reception, Saturday, September 18, 3-7 pm

Katrak: "Paper Quilts & other experiments"
Kenny: "Industrial Quilts: Nature & Industry: the patina series."

A collaborative experimental quilt exhibition.
Works are 10x16 to 28x30 and push the interpretations of traditional quilt-making.
Kenny's wonderful ocean blue patinas on hand-stitched copper metal panels, with wire, microchips, and natural fibers.
Katrak's bold color, layers of hand-textured papers, and unexpected tension inducing compositions.

~ Anne Marie Kenny "Industrial Quilts" have been exhibited in Tokyo, purchased by major corporations, and collected by the Currier Gallery plus private collectors.
~ Ree Katrak has exhibited throughout New England and served as the president of the New Hampshire Art Association. Her organic mark-making graces the walls of patrons around the country.
Shown together, the results of this collaboration entice viewers to experience the "non-traditional quilting" process through the artists' lens.

Join us at Art Up Front Street, 120 Front Street, Exeter, NH on Saturday, September 18 from 3 to 7 for the OPENING RECEPTION with beverages and bites. The exhibition is up for ONLY ONE WEEK (TUE - SAT) thru SEPT 25, 11-5 each day.

Local art gallery and artist's workspace
Aug 2021 •
This was a truly enjoyable spot. The place was filled with local artists work. You can also experience the artist's workspace and the artists are more then happy to explain there artistic process. A must to do while visiting Exeter.

This photo taken by Artful Harper Studios from her "Things you can say to the wind" series. It along with her "Baggage" series prompts a lot of conversation with our visitors. And one of the things we always hear is how the guests are surprised by the size of the space and the amount of art we have here. We would agree 💛.

Beautiful art, beautiful day, beautiful connections (and reconnections). Laura had visits from several friends and a few instructors from her college days... which would make anyone's heart sing.

Conversations about art, life, and moving forward in this crazy time. Thank GOODNESS there is art to bring us to a place of well being...and Laura's show was a spectacular way to enjoy adventure, change, and reflections.

Summer at the gallery. Exeter, New Hampshire

One of the things we love most about nice weather at the studio is being able to flow out to the front porch ...or to the back garden to make art or to host events. Some of our best creative thoughts come when we shift seasons and space.

Thank you to everyone who stops by to chat, drops in for an inspiration "refresh", who comes to our events or who tours the murals for fun or for a selfie. We love seeing you and hearing about what you have going on.

Here are a few pics of some moments during summer days. Drop in anytime Tuesday - Saturday 11-5.

Open Mic: What a fun event in Exeter.

We know there are open mics around at a few places. We don't do them often here at the studio, but when we do it brings us closer to our art friends for a different reason. It is not just "visual" art that tugs at our creativite hearts, but the sharing of other passions and talents.

Thank you to Creative Guts Podcast for organizing and hosting this event! We love what you bring to our space and our collective hearts.

And thank you to the guests who came to share and soak it all in. Beautiful day.
