That time when we were featured in ARTSCOPE MAGAZINE

Thank you again Donna Dodson, sculptor, who also doubles as a writer for ARTSCOPE Magazine. We were just going through some fond memories here at Art Up Front Street and came across these pics from early spring when you and Andy Moerlein, also fabulous sculptor, toured our studios. So yes, we must post again...
We are looking forward to your show, Donna, with Eric Sealine, at the Boston Sculptors Gallery this October!

FIGURE DRAWING OPEN STUDIO good energy

Wonderful night last night for drawing and painting. We love the community in art... like minds coming together. Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we observe, sometimes we drift to an almost meditative place as our art evolves. Everyone has a different reason for being here.... but yet one reason for being here. Our next Figure Drawing Open Studio is September 18 at 6pm. Registration by email is required. Here's to many more nights like these at Art Up Front Street. We have just gotten started - only our third session. Thank you to Laura Harper for organizing.... we love it.

GUNPOWDER and BLACK POWDER PAINTING DEMO: by BECKY BARSI

Explorations at Art Up Front Street. Thank you to Becky Barsi for exposing us to another art form. Fine black powder used for explosives and ammunition can also be used to create wonderful soft details in art. This process is combined here with inks (blown across paper) and torn sections of security envelopes. On close examination the differences in mediums can be seen.

Before and after: You may have noticed some changes...

We have been so excited about the exterior improvements this spring. We love this building and this spot in town... and are glad to be a part of lifting up a small portion of uptown Exeter. Over the last year and a half weedy vines were removed, flowers added to pots, glass and debris picked up along the foundation, fresh paint added to MANY many surfaces, power-washing done on overdue wood railings and tall steps.... all in all, it is feeling like fresh air has been infused. The exterior building makeover-shoutouts go to several people and businesses since September 2016: Thank you so very much Jeremy Townsend, Loren Hunt, Bruce Jones, Nicole Couillard, Peter Johnson, Kellie Johansen, Adrian Price, Val England, Yeti Land Care, and Jeff Whittum.
